THE BRIDGE TO SUCCESS IS A FREE PROGRAM
PROVIDES COPING SKILLS AND APPEALING INCENTIVES
SHIP in partnership with the Somerset Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency is offering a FREE weekly program called Bridge to Success that meets for a total of eight 2-hour sessions. Hot dinner and shopping gift cards are provided to participants and transportation and childcare are also available upon request.
Residents of Bound Brook, North Plainfield, South Bound Brook, Manville, and Somerville, who are between the ages of 21 and 64 have a unique opportunity to learn new ways of coping with stress while receiving shopping gift cards and free dinner on a regular basis.
The group is currently in progress in Somerville, it meeting on Tuesday evenings. from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and others are scheduled to begin soon.
People experience stress in different ways, and difficulty coping can lead to a variety of negative effects such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and even physical health problems. Do not be fooled by the agency name: this program is not just for people with a history of substance use, but for anyone who can benefit from learning how to develop and apply effective coping strategies to deal with the stressors of everyday life.
