The vast majority of all the food items used to feed
the low income and needy among us through our Anti-Hunger Programs are
donated. Volunteers from faith
communities, organizations, clubs, corporations and individuals helped
prepare and serve the meals. God Bless
them all!
SHIP's Galley is a program of and service provided by the SHIP's Anti-Hunger Program. The Galley was established in the Fall of 1992 as a response to need for an on site meal program to feed the hungry in our region. It is operated by SHIP with the support of faith communities, organizations and other volunteers whose purpose it is to provide a nutritious meal to any person in need. The meals are served to anyone in need regardless of age, race, creed, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, HIV status, residence or any other qualification. Our "open door" policy means that anyone in need is welcome to partake of this service.

To respect the guest's anonymity.

provide the meal in a friendly atmosphere.

treat the guests with dignity.
Saint John's
Episcopal Church, in Somerville has graciously offer its facilities as
a host
site. Meals are served there Monday,
Wednesday and Friday, and on the third Tuesday of each week of the year, from 12:30 to 1:30 PM.
CONTRIBUTIONS ARE NEEDED
SHIP, the
Samaritan Homeless Interim Program, Inc. is funded primarily by
donations
received from area churches, groups, and individuals.
Every dollar counts -- no donation is too small!

Crew needed: Each crew should consist of 8 to 10 volunteers
Each crew needs to elect a captain (leader-contact person) The captain should appoint a volunteer to help coordinate the crews activities Crew activities include: gathering and preparing the necessary food items delivery of food items to Galley set up and break down of Galley dining room & kitchen
Each Crew provides
7 - 8 casseroles - 10" x 12" x 3" to 4" deep
(no
